Dove Hill's Educational Programs

Rebecca and Strechy doing their last ride together.  He was two and she was three when they first rode together but now she was 11 and he was 10
At Dove Hill the education has come from many years of Horsemanship.  Rebecca, the founder and owner, has ridden since she was three years old in Upstate NY.  She started bare back with her black pony stallion named Strechy.  The family aquired the rest of the herd of ponies which she broke bare back up to the age of 12, from the local auction.  At this young age she was unfortunate to experience horse abuse when her parents were going through a divorce.  She ,even though the youngest, would spend the next two years trying to care for the only family she knew.  Unfortunately, half the herd died due not being immunized properly and the other half sold back through the auction.  But Strechy was moved to a new stable in Vernmont.  For the next three years she did not talk a word until her father put her on a the back of a TB where she felt at home again.  This picture of her and her beloved stallion is the testimony to what she has learned about caring, riding and saving what she has always loved.  She hopes that with these and local classes through the local agriculture center people and horses will not experience what she and her herd did.
